Fordham students enjoying Cuban cuisine in New York City
I am currently working in the New York City and the New Jersey area as College Spanish Instructor. Previously, I was a Senior Intern at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Adult Education in the City of New York. In this administrative position, I worked with the “We Are New York Community Project.” My job in this program focused on analyzing the program’s curriculum, observing classes and reporting back to the office in order to propose better and more efficient manners to deliver instruction. I established new partnerships with other educational institutions in order to expand the program, and I created a measurement tool to assess the impact of the program’s services in the participants’ life.  Additionally, I used to work at the YMCA of Greater New York’s New Americans Initiative Department. In this position, I worked as an English as a Second Language (ESL) and as a Spanish instructor in their Language Center.  In this position, I also had the opportunity to interact and learn from immigrants’ struggles and needs.

New York City Rotary Club Meeting
I spent more than five years as a Rotaract member and one as its president in Pasto, Colombia. Rotaract is a Rotary International- sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30.

Altruism and teaching have always been my passion. I will continue to be involved with education as I help my students learn more from other cultures and I try to create awareness of tolerance and inclusion in our multicultural and multilingual societies.
